  • I loved sitting here watching this.

Quiet and calm - it's a beautiful place.

  • It was kinda fun to enter and leave Peschiera right through the old fort walls.

Plus you have a spectacular view of this stunning coloured water.

While taking this shot (and despite using a polariser) there were large fish swimming right in front of me in full view. It is a shame the reflections overpowered the view of them.

These walls have inscribed : Disce HAEC MONEAT PRAECELSA Leonis IMAGO Ne STIMVLES VENETI CEV LEO IN HOSTE VIGENT MDLIII

Which means What you know. This excellent image of the lion will dissuade the Venetians from the lead against the enemy because they have the force of the lion. 1553. The year the marble lion of San Marco (near these walls) was unveiled.

  • The marina in Peschiera is a spectacular place to leave your boat.

Surrounded by 16th Century fort walls and right at the entrance to the moat - it is tranquil and picturesque.

A view over to Mt Baldo at sunrise topped off a lovely morning for me.
