  • This is another frame from some timelapses I am doing. I know I have previously put a similar shot up in sepia. Clearly running out of places to photograph. Although I am away this week to Wales so new material will follow.

My earlier shot of this is here:-

http://www.flickr.com/photos/jrmurray/6611252509/in/set-72157624600629756

I have also put a couple of others below in the comments as I really like the old stone and architectural details of the ancient doorway.

  • Another of the inside of the City Chambers. On this, the southern side the marble is a rich golden colour and the contrasts a deep chocolate.

  • Sir Walter Scott sits proudly over the Glasgow Wheel.

I thought I lost my chance to photograph this as I went in January and they seemed to be removing it. However it has been extended by popular demand.

I am thankful for my chance to capture a little bit of London in Glasgow. I also have a night shot to follow.

  • A shot looking west at the end of a glorious working day.

The sky was clear the world seemed slower and I was happy, just me and my camera (and a few young neds passing comment)!

I always look at the Gala Casino and think anyone who has to name something Gala, just takes the gloss off instantly. Like Gala Church Fair, or Gala School Fete, they're usually the failures, the duds - talked up so much they invariably let you down.

This one has stood the test of time, I guess no one entering a Casino is really interested in a Gala time so they're not let down.

  • A line of Hackney Cabs outside Central in the evening peak hour.

I love these quintessentially British icons.

  • The Wheel of Glasgow - or Glasgow Eye.

I promised a night shot back when I posted this of the square and wheel http://www.flickr.com/photos/jrmurray/6914663185.

This was one of the most outstanding sunsets I have seen in a long while and I was excited to get three decent captures in the one night, yesterday's shot, this and another of the Gallery (to follow).

This is a three shot HDR, I was lucky for the wheel to stop while I was capturing the normally exposed frame - so I overlayed that frame to get the detail of the boxes.

  • Not a pub or cafe, but a pizzeria and not in an alleyway.

However I love this place because of it's name.

Named after a favourite film of Beccy and mine.

I also love the wonderful way they have decorated the front on the perfect colours of deep red and gold.

Looking forward to the 5D3 (X) tomorrow. I love that 'rate' button. http://www.canonrumors.com/tag/5d3/

Museum of Modern Art on Valentine's Day 2011

The Gallery in rush hour. Late winter after work. Someone has always placed a cone on the Duke of Wellington's Head. I am glad they have as it adds a touch of humour and Glasgwegian Character.

  • A morning reflection of the Tron in in a mirror windowed building in Buchanan Street.

I have to love Glaswegan locals. While I am taking this a young chap in army surplus camoflage and a dodgy hunting hat walks past and kindly advises me to 'watch out takin' pichas as the pole lice will arrest me for being a terrorist!' Life is never dull.

Update, so now a man (apparently another non-terrorist) has barricaded himself in restaurant over the road from here. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-16991511" rel="nofollow">www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-16991511 .

  • St Andrew's Suspension Bridge sits peacefully over the Clyde at sunrise in late winter. This photo is taken in the other direction from yesterdays and two bridges over to the east.

It is a panorama similar to a single shot I have posted earlier.

This one clearly shows the Clyde Tiger an art project commissioned for the Chinese New Year. Also the giant glass roof of St Enoch's Square is visible a street back from the TIger.

  • Love this corner, I see it when I walk out of Central Station. It's always busy at night as a restaurant and I love it most, when it is like this with the sun hitting it in the morning.

Fridays is the name of the Restaurant on the ground floor.

Proof we do see the sun and blue skies in Scotland.

  • A reflection in the window of All Saints Spitalfields in Buchanan Street. These sewign machines fill these huge windows to the width of about 30 - 40 meters by 3 or 4 meters high.

  • This old Police Box is a coffee shop at times in Buchanan Street.

Right now it is closed. On two or three occasions I have seen a person peeking out offering coffee for sale.

Maybe Dr Who moonlights? Perhaps his secret job at Starbucks funds his other life as a genius and time traveller.

  • I love this place, having spent 20 or so minutes here every night for four years - And a quick walk through every morning.

It's Central Station in rush hour.

This is a 39 shot high saturation HDR = seven overlapping shots on the floor and six for the glass roof. I normally don't use the over saturation of this effect as I like 'realistic' shots. However the abundance of white here just washed away an interior that is just truly stunning to my eye.

  • A shot in rush hour at the front front of Glasgow Central Station.

It's the sepia version of the HDR posted earlier. My family liked this version the best.

  • A shot in rush hour at the front front of Glasgow Central Station.

It's an HDR as the light was a little challenging between the bright canopy and lovely yellow lights on the building opposite.

I love coming out here first thing in the morning - it's like I am living a Century ago. Sometimes with the transport system here I feel I am! On a clear day your often greeting with a lovely band of golden morning light picking the detail on the buildings opposite.

  • If you saw my post here http://www.flickr.com/photos/jrmurray/6758949289/in/photostream/ then you would know I am quite mad.

This is actually a photograph of a place where people cross into the parallel universe. Its a portal right here in Glasgow. Lucern has nothing on Glasgow with its Large Hadron Collider.

Seriously, this is Buchanan Street on a wet day after work. Flipped vertically (ie: you're looking at the reflection) and horizontally for added effect.

  • Scientists now believe there may really be a parallel universe - in fact, there may be an infinite number of parallel universes, and we just happen to live in one of them. These other universes contain space, time and strange forms of exotic matter. Some of them may even contain you, in a slightly different form. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/horizon/2001/paralleluni.shtml).

We know there is a Truman Show going on behind each puddle and the actors line up at the right time as we pass to reflect our world back. Yesterday I just happened to capture this shot of one of their houses and the actors were late so I was not reflected.

Weird - too many late nights I think!

  • A shot of one of my favourite parts of town at the end of Winter.

Actually it is many shots being a verto-panorama ie: two rows of three shots (HDR) per frame.

7547x6169 full resolution.

  • Another City reflections shot. I know I am getting repetitive. However I like these better than the last set.

All taken in Sauchihall Street one of the main shopping streets in Glasgow. 5pm on a Tuesday night.

  • Sauchiehall Street Glagsow on a busy weekday lunchtime. Some bokeh shots, a beggar and lady with red hair captured through the crowd. Ironic this poor guy is competing with the sales and 'Chuggers' or Charity Muggers as the locals call them.

Not 30' from this bloke are two people working for a Charity collecting funds for poor people. I reckon they should just cut out the middle man and put their money in his cup.

  • Princess Square I took the camera to work yesterday to do some street work. Basically I am rubbish at it, but that is all it takes for me to want to try and get better.

I just love the decorations on this building. I've meant to get a shot of it for weeks. It's Princess Square in Glasgow. A wonderful building inside also, which I will capture later. It's full of restaurants and fashion shops.

Beccy couldn't quite work out what it is on top of the building, she was with Sophia and asked her. Being highly visual and already into design (clothes, photography, still lifes, etc) she knew immediately and said, 'It's a Peacock Mum!' I quietly admit wondering for a long time myself what it was.

This is an 18 shot HDR panorama - I used CS5 to stich the pictures together after processing each set of 3 as Photorealistic, HDR images.

  • Buchanan Street Shopping Crowds: I took my camera in so that I could console myself on my first day back after holidays.

I had such an enjoyable photographic break over Christmas and New Year. I needed shutter therapy. I wanted to do some street work, but wasn't in a people mood, this was my best from the day.
