The main staircase and front window (pre- internal rennovation) Domain House, 2015. Domain House is a grand neo-Gothic sandstone landmark built in 1848-49. It represents an important part of early colonial education as it originally began its life as the High School Of Hobart Town - http://ontheconvicttrail.blogspot.com.au/2013/03/domain-house-high-school-of-hobart-town.html Domain House reminds me of the magnificent Mount Stuart House http://www.mountstuart.com/files/cache/36817598586a76409ea95686b437f057.jpg
I attended the Opening of the Open House Hobart for the Australian Institute of Architects at the recently rennovated (at least externally) iconic old University of Tasmania building. I finally photographed Domain House how I have wanted - at sunset and with the internal lights on. That photo is to follow. Here is one taken during the speeches. A 30 second exposure - and one lady stood completely still the whole time - right in the middle of the room.
Low cloud over West Hobart. Love these houses on the hill.
